Art that whispers
My work is an invitation to remember the beauty and magic of nature, and the beauty and magic of you.
Pressed flowers, gold, and winged creatures are the recurring elements in my paintings. They carry what I most believe in: transformation, love, and the courage to become who you are amidst the unknown.
I’m drawn to materials that shine: gold, which is captured sunlight, and mother of pearl, which is captured rainbow. Alongside them I use what the earth gives me: wildflowers gathered on walks, leaves that turn golden in the autumn. Watercolor, acrylic paint, inks, oil paint, and collage hold it all together, and lately my palette has moved toward the earthy colors found in nature.
I write words onto each piece, messages that want to be said. Layer after layer, they are covered over, but glimpses remain and linger in the finished work, even when the words themselves are hidden.
It’s my hope that my work inspires you to see the beauty within yourself.
About Me
I'm Allison Lyon, a nature-inspired mixed media artist based in South Bend, Indiana.
I’m a mother of two toddlers and a cat (Leo), wife, and artist. I spend my days caring for my two children and keeping up with them (they can be a little wild!).
In the few quiet moments of my days you’ll find me creating art, sitting outside, being in nature, filming or editing a video for my YouTube channel, or simply just resting.
