Pet Portrait Watercolor Dog Tutorial | How to Paint Fur

In this watercolor tutorial, we'll paint a dog pet portrait! I'll share my technique for painting pet portraits in an easy, beginner way. You can follow along painting the same dog as me (outline and reference below) or apply the same techniques I use to paint your own dog!

How to Transfer Outline onto Your Watercolor Paper

  1. Print outline. Color the entire back with a dark pencil. Lay onto your watercolor paper with the outline facing up. Trace the outline with a pencil.

  2. Print outline. Use transfer paper by laying the transfer paper onto your watercolor paper with your outline on top. Trace the outline with a pencil.
