6 Reasons Why You Should Share Your Art with Others
Before I share with you why it's important to share your art, I'll first go over WAYS you can share your art.
Here are some ways: Instagram, YouTube videos, Facebook artist groups (join ours here), in person with friends and family, given away to loved ones, art galleries and shows, donating your art to charity, blog posts, creating an online shop, displaying in your home, sharing and selling at fairs.
Sharing your art will...
Help you not feel alone in your art journey
When your share your art with others, it will give them a chance to follow your journey. Sometimes it can be lonely as an artist especially if you keep your art to yourself. Sharing it will help you not feel lonely. You can connect with others through your artwork!
Inspire others to pursue their own art/creative journey
Sharing your art will help inspire others! When others see the art you create and your process, many will want to pursue their own creative/art journey. It's amazing how our actions (creating art) can encourage others to create and make as well.
Encourage your friends and family to support you
When your loved ones see you hard at work creating, they will want to support you! If you don't show or tell anyone about your art, no one will be able to support you and cheer you on! As artists, it's good to have a tribe of people around us who are supportive of our creative endeavors.
Create a community around your art and vision
Even if you're not selling your art, just sharing it will create community! People who admire your art will start to gather around you. You can bring people together through your art and vision, which is so powerful.
Bring more beauty into the world
As you may know, there are some not so great things in this world. Many awful and tragic things happen. Art is a way for you and others to not only see the bad, but see the good. Art brings more beauty into this world, which we need!
Helps you find courage and expand out of your comfort zone
Sharing your art will encourage you to try new things, grow your skills, venture into uncertain (but good) paths, and help you find the courage when you need it to keep going. If you keep your art to yourself, it may hinder you from expanding from your comfort zone which in turn will hinder your art skills.
When you put your art out into the world, you're telling the world, "This is what I do. This is what I've created from my soul."
It's scary, but a really good thing.
And once you put your art out into the world, you'll feel more free. You'll want to grow more as an artist. You'll want to inspire and encourage others to do the same. You'll strive to become better.
