5 Simple Ways To Improve Your Artist Life

I've been going through some hard times with my artist life recently, as well as burnout with my art business. I've been overworking myself for so long and not really taking it slow. Do you ever feel this way?

You’re tired, you don’t feel like making art anymore, or maybe you feel overwhelmed with everything going on that you never set aside time for yourself...

I made some changes in my art business so I can take better care of my mental health and have a better artist life. Ever since I made cuts in my work load a few weeks ago, I have experienced so much happiness.

The reason why I started my art business is to create a life where I don’t have to work all the time. To make time for family and the things I enjoy.

To have my business work for me instead of me work for my business…

I found that the last two years, the only time I painted was for tutorials, classes, and my YouTube channel. I can't even remember the last time I just sat down and painted for myself; I feel like it's been more than a year which is terrible!

I really want to be more intentional with my business and art, so I decided to take what I call a “Self Care Artist Day” and want to have these days at least once a month. These days will also help my mental health and help me remember why I started doing this in the first place.

Here are my 5 simple steps to have the perfect artist day!

Step 1 - Start your day off right (sleep in, take it slow, no social media)

Step 2 - Wear something that makes you feel creative

Step 3 - Go outside (take a walk, drink coffee on your porch)

Step 4 - Clean up your art space

Step 5 - Create anything you want to create!

I wanted to take you along with me so I can inspire you to also take an artist self care day. I vlogged my day, and it's now on my YouTube channel.

I hope that you are encouraged to take a day like this for yourself!
