I BELIEVE...
I believe that nature deserves our adoration and attention.
I believe that we need to admire the nature that surrounds us every day and reminisce in its beauty.
I also believe that nature show us that there is good in this world - we just need to slow down and take in the fascinating wonders of nature.
In the summer of 2017 I picked up my brushes after 5 years of not painting.
I rediscovered my love and purpose for creating and couldn’t stop. I took a leap of hope and began my art business that fall.
I started with only oils and painted abstract landscapes. My skills needed some serious work too but I just kept on going.
In 2018 I began to make more realistically with oils such as flowers and butterflies. But I felt confined and wanted to explore something else.
I January of 2019 I began learning watercolor and did a 100 day challenge. Learning watercolor changed my art business and improved my skills drastically.
My YouTube channel I started the year before evolved into watercolor tips and tutorials. These videos helped my channel take off.
Over the next few years I was known for only watercolor. I sold more and more art each year. I made online watercolor classes and a membership. I was finally making money in my art business but something just didn’t feel right.
At the end of 2021 I began exploring acrylics and I began to move away from watercolor. Most of my followers and subscribers follow me for watercolor content so this was a hard decision I made not knowing how it could affect my business. But I knew I needed to do this.
In April 2022 I had a baby and I also enrolled in an art program that changed my life. That month up until the present I am working on the program while also raising my son. The program introduced many new mediums and techniques that I now use in my art.
Right now I’m focusing mainly on my family and making art that is from my heart.
My growth wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t let myself explore new mediums and ways of making art: in 2019 exploring watercolor and 2022 exploring all the mediums I possibly can. I now create mixed media art and love it.
In the next 10 years I see myself creating art that comes from within and changes lives. I also hope to help other artists in some way (like classes) once my children are older.
