Starting my mixed media art portfolio for Milan Art Institute Mastery Program | Art Studio Vlog 108

Hi everyone, welcome to my new studio blog.

Spend a few days with me in my art studio as I start my mixed media art portfolio for Milan Art Institute Mastery Program.

Also, don’t forget to visit my art shop - it’s now open! Go here: https://www.allisonlyonart.com/shop

For 13 months now, I’ve been enrolled in The Mastery Program at Milan Art Institute. I relearned the basics of drawing and oil painting, learned how to use color to create richer paintings, discovered over 10 new art materials I can use to uplevel my art, and realized my true potential and destiny as an artist.

For the last several months, I’ve been discovering my own unique artist voice, style, and process. All of which is beginning to come together, and I can’t wait to share my new art with you and the world.

Every time I pick up a paint brush, my innermost thoughts and desires become more and more unveiled. I’m beginning to better understand my purpose in this world and better understand myself.

To me, art is an expression of our deepest desires. Art uplifts us and inspires us. It helps us embrace who we truly are and proudly share that with the world.

I believe art has the ability to transform who we are for the better, heal our deepest wounds, and bring light to our true selves.

Art allows me to explore my identity and understand myself better, and I believe it can help you do that as well.

The moth painting you see in this vlog is titled “Untethered”. To be unbound from our fears and struggles. To be free from what holds us back from our purpose and happiness. I hope this piece helps you feel freedom and realize your purpose.

The other painting of the owl is titled “You’re My Beautiful Light”. To me, light is happiness and hope. Light is our refuge from darkness. Darkness can be many things in our life such as negativity, guilt, regret, feeling like we don’t matter, feeling unloved, comparison, and I could go on.

My hope is that this piece will remind you of your light. That we all have a light inside of us that shines no matter what we’re going through.

And maybe you have another light that is a person in your life  (or a memory of a person who passed) who is always there for you through thick and thin. And if you don’t have that person, I hope you’re reminded that they are out there somewhere waiting to meet you.

Both paintings took me about 12 hours each to paint over the course of three weeks.

If you resonate with my artwork, I invite you to join my collector’s email list. You’ll get priority access to my portfolio when it launches, access to a secret art shop, exclusive sales and behind the scenes, and more.
